Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between your business and us for using Joinery OS. Please read them. By creating an account, or by using Joinery OS on behalf of a business, you accept them for that business.
1. Who we are
Joinery OS is provided by Boatswain Joinery Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16081479), of Florida Terrace, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, BA3 2AE, trading as Joinery OS ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@joineryos.co.uk.
2. For businesses only
Joinery OS is for businesses: joinery workshops and the people who work for them. It is not offered to consumers. The person who creates an account confirms they are entitled to accept these terms for their business. In these terms, "you" means that business.
3. What Joinery OS is
Joinery OS is online software for designing timber windows and doors and producing quotes, drawings, job sheets, cutting lists, supplier order sheets and customer records. We may improve and change it over time. If we remove something important you rely on, we will tell you first.
4. Check before you cut, order or quote
Joinery OS works out sizes, quantities and prices from the measurements, settings and prices you enter. It is a tool to help a skilled joiner, not a replacement for one. You are responsible for checking every drawing, size, cutting list, order and quote before you rely on it: before timber is cut, glass or ironmongery is ordered, a quote is sent or work is fitted. That includes checking that the product meets Building Regulations, planning or listed building conditions, and the customer's requirements.
5. Your account and team
- Keep log-in details private. Each person should have their own account.
- The account owner decides who joins the company's account and what role each person has, and is responsible for what the team does in it.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone has got into your account without permission.
6. Free trial
New accounts get a free trial, normally 7 days. During the trial you can use everything. When it ends, you can still log in, see your data and download it, but you can't make changes until your account is switched on. Nothing is charged automatically at the end of the trial.
7. Fees
- If you carry on after the trial, you pay the fees agreed with you, or shown on our website when you sign up to a paid plan. Fees are paid monthly in advance unless we agree otherwise, and are plus VAT.
- We may change our fees by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't want to pay the new fees, you can close your account before they start.
- If a payment is more than 14 days late, we may make your account read-only or pause it until it is paid. We will email you first.
8. Your data
- Everything you put into Joinery OS (your customers, jobs, drawings, prices and pictures) stays yours.
- You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Joinery OS to you, to keep it secure, and to help when you ask for support.
- You can download all your data at any time from the Help page.
- Where your data includes personal information about other people (for example your customers), you are the controller and we are your processor. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't look at your jobs, prices or customers except to fix a problem you have asked us to look at, or where the law requires it.
9. Using Joinery OS fairly
Don't misuse Joinery OS. In particular, don't try to get into other companies' data, interfere with the service or its security, copy or resell the software, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does any of these things.
10. Availability and backups
We work to keep Joinery OS available and your data safe, and we keep regular backups. But no online service can be available all of the time, and we may need short breaks for maintenance. We don't promise that Joinery OS will be uninterrupted or error-free. Downloading a copy of your data from time to time is sensible.
11. Our software
We own Joinery OS and everything in it apart from your data. We give you the right to use it for your business while your account is open. If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely.
12. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, wasted materials or labour, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- We are not liable for loss caused by information you entered, or by relying on a drawing, size, cutting list, order or quote without checking it (see section 4).
- Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months, or £100 if that is more.
13. Ending the agreement
- You can close your account at any time by emailing us. Paid months already started are not refunded.
- We can close your account with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms.
- After an account closes, you can still download your data for 90 days. After that we delete it. Backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email the account owner at least 30 days before it applies. Carrying on using Joinery OS after that means you accept the new terms.
15. General
These terms, with the data processing agreement, are the whole agreement between us about Joinery OS. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Nobody else has rights under them. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
